Lof

Lof is a bone china tableware collection inspired on Chile´s native Indians ceramic tradition from the period 0-1200 AD and spiritual belief. The material had been used not only to suggest a specific domestic function, but also to communicate and reveal symbolic and cultural meanings.

The research of this project took over a year with the collaboration of 5 museums of the southern region of Chile and Santiago. Analyzing in detail more than a 100 original pieces from the mentioned period. Mapuche´s ceramic tradition was inspired on their natural environment and expressed beautiful and poetical details about it.

The lof Collection consist on eight ceramic pieces which are an abstraction ofthe most representative mapuchean ceramic pieces brought up to date for modern times and needs.
